EPA finds Hyundai, Kia overstated gas mileage

Put a gallon of gas in the car. Drive it till it stops. See how far you get. Very basic test but you get the idea. Run a number of tests. Get the average. Should not be that hard to figure out.

Why should it be the case that when the needle reads 1/2 that it takes more fuel than 1/2 the capacity of the tank to refill the tank?

All the manufacturers overstate the mileage. These 2 were dumb enough to get caught.
